FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS (FAQ)
1) What does this product do?*
The Glycolic Resurfacing Body Serum is a leave-on body treatment designed to help smooth rough, bumpy texture while improving the appearance of stubborn body discoloration.
It is especially useful for concerns like:
- strawberry legs
- rough or bumpy arms
- keratosis pilaris-prone skin
- dark inner thighs
- body acne marks
- rough knees and elbows
- uneven-looking body tone
2) Is this a body lotion?
No. This is not a body lotion.
It is a treatment-step body serum used before your body lotion or body oil. It is designed to go beyond moisture by helping address texture and tone concerns more directly.
3) What skin concerns is it best for?
This serum is best for people dealing with:
- rough body texture
- bumps on the arms or legs
- strawberry legs
- keratosis pilaris-prone skin
- dark marks after body breakouts
- dark inner thighs
- uneven-looking body tone
- rough knees and elbows
4) Can I use it on my whole body?
It can be used on broader body areas, but it is often best used on the areas where you specifically need correction most.
Many people choose to use it on:
- upper arms
- legs
- inner thighs
- knees
- elbows
- areas with post-breakout marks
If you are new to exfoliating body treatments, start gradually and observe how your skin responds before increasing usage.
5) Can I use it every day?
If your skin tolerates it well, you may gradually build up usage over time.
start with using 2–3 nights weekly and increase slowly to 4 – 5 nights a week only if your skin is comfortable.
6) Can I use it on sensitive skin?
This product is not the best starting point for very sensitive, compromised or eczema-prone skin.
If your skin is easily irritated, reacts quickly to exfoliants, or has an impaired barrier, it is better to proceed with caution or choose a gentler body care option like our Expresso coffee scrub.
7) Can I use it on dark inner thighs?
Yes, it can be used on dark inner thighs, especially when uneven tone is combined with roughness or recurring texture buildup.
Because that area can be more delicate, start slowly and avoid use on irritated, freshly shaved or friction-damaged skin.
8) Can I use it on underarms?
It can be used carefully on underarms, but only when the skin is not freshly shaved, waxed, broken or irritated.
Because the underarm area is delicate, it is important to introduce it slowly and monitor skin comfort closely.
9) Can I use it after shaving or waxing?
No. Do not apply it immediately after shaving or waxing.
Wait until the skin feels calm and fully settled like 2 days before use. Applying exfoliating acids on freshly shaved or waxed skin may cause irritation and discomfort.
10) Can I use it with other exfoliating products?
Do not use this on the same area on the same night with other strong exfoliating products.
This helps reduce the risk of over-exfoliation, irritation and barrier damage.
If you already use other exfoliating products in your routine, alternate them carefully instead of layering them together on the same body zone.
11) Can I use it with my body lotion?
Yes. In fact, it is designed to be used before your body lotion or body oil.
Routine order:
1. Cleanse
2. Apply Glycolic Resurfacing Body Serum to dry skin
3. Follow with body lotion or body oil if needed
12) How long does it take to see results?
This depends on the skin concern, how consistent you are, and whether you are protecting treated areas properly.
In general:
- rough texture may begin to feel smoother within 6 weeks
- more stubborn discoloration usually takes longer e.g 9 – 12 weeks
- consistent use matters more than overusing the product
For best results, use it steadily and protect exposed treated areas from sun exposure.
13) Do I need sunscreen when using this product?
Yes.
Because this product contains exfoliating acids, it can make skin more sensitive to sun exposure. If you use it on body areas that will be exposed, sunscreen is very important.
This helps protect your progress and reduces the risk of worsening discoloration.
14) Can I use it during the day?
This product is best used at night.
It is designed as a PM treatment step, followed by sunscreen during the day on exposed treated areas.
15) Can I use it on active body acne?
If the skin is very inflamed, irritated or broken, it is better to avoid applying it directly over compromised areas.
However, once breakouts have settled, it may be helpful for texture concerns and the appearance of post-breakout body marks.
16) Will it bleach my skin?
No. This product is not designed to bleach the skin.
It is designed to help improve the look of rough texture and uneven-looking discoloration, not to alter your natural skin tone.
17) What makes this different from a scrub?
A scrub mainly works on the surface of the skin during use, then gets rinsed off.
This serum is a leave-on treatment, which means it continues working on the skin after application. It is designed for people who want a more correction focused approach to rough texture and uneven-looking body areas.
